Description: About Clearwater River

The Clearwater River is a beautiful piece of large river, public steelhead water. The Highway follows the river all the way from it's confluence with the Snake River to it's headwaters where the Selway and Lochsa Rivers join. Access is easy and the season begins early each August and ends in late March. Winter and early spring fishing can be weather dependant but the fall water conditions are very reliably good through at least Thanksgiving. The spring fishery can be a fantastic one on the upper river.
