Description: About Tsiu River

The Tsiu River, pronounced “si – u,” is a clear, pristine river that is home to an incredible, world-class run of Silver Salmon (Coho Salmon). The Tsiu River is shallow and has a sandy bottom which makes it safe and easy to wade across. Whether you are a fly-fisherman or you want to spin fish, you will have the time of your life fighting these aggressive Silvers as they pour into the river on their upstream migration. The peak fishing season on the Tsiu River runs from the first week of August until mid-October. During this time, you will be able to sight cast to thousands of fresh, chrome bright Silvers from the Gulf of Alaska. Additionally, the massive numbers of Silver (Coho) Salmon arriving at the Tsiu will amaze even the most seasoned fishermen who make the journey to this incredible Coho fishery!
