Winter weather is here to stay for most of the week with highs in the low 40's and lows in the 20's and 30's. Temps will hit the 50's by the weekend making for some enjoyable weather for the end of the year! The spring creeks and larger freestone streams will be in the best shape for trout fishing. Musky fishing will be much more comfortable once the temps hit the upper 40's.

Description: About South Fork of Shenandoah River

The South Fork of the Shenandoah is one of Virginia's premier smallmouth bass fisheries. This river is very tame with rapids rarely hitting class II or even III. Most of the South Fork can be floated in a tube or canoe. Wading is difficult as there are very deep holes along the river and the only public access is at the VDGIF boat landings. Smallmouth Bass fishing is outstanding from March through September. The South Fork also holds some very big largemouth bass, carp, and musky. This is truly one of Virginia's most diverse warm water fisheries.
