Excellent fishing, cooler weather also. The next few weeks look great with favorable flows and a variety of terrestrials. Stick with the hopper and it will pay you. 11/18/24

Techniques & Tips as of 11/18/24

Dry dropper rigs are the go to here for now. Heavy nymphs with indicators on higher water or in the deeper runs. Streamer fishing on cloudy rainy days is good.

Description: About Cumberland River

The Cumberland River tailwater begins at Wolf Creek Dam on Lake Cumberland in south central Kentucky and flows for 70 miles before it reaches the Tennessee state line. It is the longest coldwater tailrace we fish. The Cumberland is the best trout fishery in Kentucky. Drift and jet boat fly fishing is the best way to cover the water here.
