West Branch Angler's Tip of the Week

6/18, Flows are currently at 581` and steady at Hale Eddy. This is a great flow for wade and boat anglers. The river is back looking clear. This week we are getting a mix of heat and hopefully some much needed precipitation. Here on the West Sulphurs are your dominant hatch as well as some Caddis around like always.. You can expect to see a mid afternoon as well as an evening hatch of Sulphurs. The last 45 minutes of light, "magic hour" as I like to call it has been consistent with a fish eating a good mix of Sulphurs and spinners.

The bugs have been getting better as they days go on here on the mighty west branch. Been seeing solid bugs throughout the system. Sulphurs, and Caddis are all around! If you're not finding fish with their heads up it's a safe bet that they're eating nymphs. Tightline/indicator/dry dropper are all effective ways to nymph right now.
