West Branch Angler's Tip of the Week
7/11, Flows are currently at 617 at Hale Eddy and dropping after the thermal release last night. This is a great flow for wade and boat anglers. The river is back looking clear. This week we are getting some much cooler temps which will only help with the fishing. Here on the West, Sulphur's are your dominant hatch, BWO's on the right day, and some ISO's and Caddis around like always. You can expect to see a mid afternoon ( usually kicking off between 1-3:30) as well as an evening hatch of Sulphur's (usually starting 5-8:30). The last 15 minutes of light, "15 minutes of fury" as I like to call it has been consistent with a fish eating a good mix of Sulphur's and spinners.

Techniques & Tips as of 7/11/26
The bugs have been getting better as they days go on here on the mighty west branch. Been seeing solid bugs throughout the system. Sulphurs, and Caddis are all around! If you're not finding fish with their heads up it's a safe bet that they're eating nymphs. Tightline/indicator/dry dropper are all effective ways to nymph right now.
