The Reel Baja's Tip of the Week
With the weather getting hot some of the best fishing will be early in the morning and late afternoon. Concrete on those times especially if fishing from the beach. The fish can certainly be active other times of day but those “magic hours” can be some of the best.

The Reel Baja5-Day Outlook as of 11/24/25
We expect good weather and good fishing this upcoming week. We will see a little wind in the afternoons from the Southeast it that is typical for this time of year. The fishing should remain steady as the water temperatures are looking good.
Techniques & Tips as of 11/24/25
Inshore - This time of year we see a lot of action early in the mornings as well as the low light hours in the evenings. People tend to over look these time periods. If you want some great action get up and on the water early or fish a little later in the day as those "magic" hours can be great. Offshore - have a few different rods ready from 8wt. to 12/14wt as you never know what you might encounter as far as species and size of fish. It never fails you will be running to a destination and you run into feeding fish on your way. You need to be ready for anything before you leave the dock.
Current Conditions as of 11/24/25
Magdalena Bay Report: Fall has settled in around Mag Bay, and you can feel it first thing in the morning—cold air, a little fog, and that damp coastal chill that comes with the season change. Even with the cooler weather, the fishing overall has stayed solid. Offshore, the marlin are here in strong numbers, but this past week they just haven’t wanted to eat quite as well. There’s no shortage of fish—plenty of life out there—but the bite has been a bit selective, with some days feeling like work and others turning on with great action when the fish decide to cooperate. We’re still seeing a few wahoo mixed in, and the occasional dorado is showing up, though not in big numbers. Inshore, there are still a few roosterfish around, especially when the afternoons warm up. Back in the mangroves, the fishing has been very consistent and one of the bright spots this week. Anglers are finding strong action for groupers, snook, corvina, golden trevally, and various snappers while working the channels and deeper pockets. It’s been a great option on the days when the offshore fish get stubborn. Overall, the fish are here and the opportunities are good—it’s just been one of those weeks where they didn’t always want to eat.
